Doug = rescue-a-wreck

Fullerplast Offset Orphanage

Home of mongrel parts and bastard offsets...

Give me your routed, your refinished, and your buzzstopped. Your schaller-reamed brass nutted neck. Send me your Jimmy brown stained weary body with carpet stapled to the back... your chisled, hacked and amateurly reliced hideous 4 pickup monstrosity which affords Leo no rest in the grave... and you shall find solace and salvation. A new vintage beauty will appear in the twinkling of an eye, we will not all sleep but we shall be changed. Another will rise from the ruins of it's once-proud predecessors. And it shall again be called  :?-worthy.

I wish I still had some of the money earned some weeks ago..I'm quite interested in restoring that neck,at the end it's still a vintage neck and putting it in its original shape could be a great race and a better excuse for starting a new (looong loooong time ) project...
But I'm broke again.. :-\ ( 8))

The neck's already been sold to bubbles_horowitz.

The Jag is here, but I'm too late to pick it up. I came home to find the notice on my door...    :(

on the spinal tap theme, I recently saw for the first time the second ST movie, with them playing live at the albert hall and the interspersed interview bits... what made me almost piss my self was  when they went back to suburb/town that they grew up in as kids  (and this maybe only funny for brits and aussies .... i don't know)

the suburb/town was called SQUATNEY

That last pic is stuff I have on hand already for it. I also have all the missing hardware.

Oddly, they used Klusons for the second bank of tuners, and sadly... they mixed and matched them when they converted it back. I have 4 single lines and two double lines, and the high e is a middle section. DOH!  It would have been SO easy to have put them back correctly...

???

Ask the seller if he still has the other tuners.
Apparently he bought this as-is for $10 in a thrift shop.

I've been going to every thrift shop, junk store, pawn shop, flea market, swap meet and yard sale for 15 years looking for something like this and zip....

:(

Anyway, I just tested the electronics and EVERYTHING WORKS! The cavities are very clean and all the brass is there. The wiring is untouched, even the little 90 degree terminal ends to ground the plates are still there and soldered to the brass. The mute slug is there too, it was installed upside down, but it was there.

The chrome plates have some pitting, but it's not too bad. The dullness of them is some kind of film that will clean off. I think they'll be very presentable once scrubbed and polished. I'll probably start on that today.

I'm really happy with this. I wish that MM neck was here. I'm going to do like I did the IBM '66 JM, assemble and set it up BEFORE I refinish it. I want to make sure everything is exactly how I want it, and then disassemble it for refin.

More photos are coming as soon as I can them loaded within the next few minutes....
BTW, where did you get that great looking decal?
IIRC, it was an eBay special. It's OK, but not really all that great. The small lettering is very fuzzy. I'm only using the JAGUAR part though, so it will work.

Really?  It looks pretty good in the pic.  Most of the ones I have seen on Ebay have the "Offset Contour Body" part all crooked and sloppy.  :k

I never thought about the Pat. #'s...

Testing the electronics (the pickguard shield is still present!):

The cavities:

The mute slug! Notice the pup cover looks gouged. It's only goo from the mute foam and will clean right up...
