And it's even smoother and shinier in real life than the camera could catch!

... now I am so happy I do the dance of joy!

:-*

Edit:  I couldn't resist more pics. Notice the shim in the neck pocket. I wanted to leave the telltale shim mark in the clear.

And here's the neck getting a suntan. I'm hoping it will turn more "salmon":

With that pink skin pigment I wouldn't be too long in the sun without sunblock.  ;D

BTW - WHERE is the Piña Colada?
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

nice work doug. vey nice work indeed. it's amazing how much better any finish looks with a clear coat. the 'lickability' just went up by a 100% :?

Yeah... it looks like a cough drop or hard candy that's been in the mouth for awhile... shiny and smooth.

The headstock indeed tanned a little. I can see a little more salmon in it than the body. It's not noticeable in the pic so much. I better stop any further tanning until the body is ready to set out!

It was mostly all day for two days... in intense heat and sun.

Like I said, its noticeable... but just barely. I think a few more weekends might yield the color I want.

But I'll have to let the body catch up first!

Well, I didn't mean the color haha... just the smooth texture and shine. I wish my camera could catch it better...

I just lightly wetsanded, wiped it down with a tackrag and isoprpyl.. and applied the final coat.

You can see it is becoming darker and more pleasing to the eye (IMO) the deeper the clear gets!

Like you said, Doug - looks like a hardcandy someone have sucked on for a while.

Beautiful!

The clear will make that pink go nicely towards salmon whith some UV on it too.
