Oh yeah hey man you should post a pic of that if you still have it! I think we'd all like to see it and its potential .markeeee wrote:That's great work, but also heart-breaking. I have one of these, but a previous owner has yacht varnished it and gouged huge chunks out of the body, presumably while removing the old paint. I started sanding it last Summer, but it soon became clear that it'd need so much filler that it'd hardly be worth it (my inexperienced opinion).
I don't know whether to persevere, buy a new body or just part the damn thing out and sell it on.

Check this site for a diagram.Shorty wrote:Yeah man thats what I've been wanting to do. Hmmm retaining nut? I might not need one as that long screw sticking out has one already I believe as I tightened that nut at the end to keep the thing tremolo from moving. I have yet to see how these trems are set up so would anyone with one of them care to post a pic of their similar working trem???Spekter wrote:Looks like you might be able to get the trem to function with a Jag spring and retaining nut.

Looks good! Did you use DIY Layout Creator for the wiring diagram?

Re: Epiphone ET-270
Sure did ! I'm just waiting for some extra cash and ill buy a jaguar/jazzmaster trem spring for it on ebay. Then the tremolo bar thats hard to find. I went through a whole box of them vintage and new and none of them fit. There was great shit in there so I might buy one for it anyways.

Where did you find the saddles, if I might ask? Also, I've heard 11-32 size trem arms work for these trems, but I don't have any firsthand experience.

Re: Epiphone ET-270
The saddles I got from a local music shop the as far as I know they maybe univox but maybe not as the original bridge they were on had a mute. Now as far as the trem I don't have an arm for it still. I did get a jaguar/jazzmaster trem spring and cut it a little to get my trem working.Soselo wrote:Where did you find the saddles, if I might ask? Re: Epiphone ET-270
So now I finally have this guitar altogether now apart from the trem cover and original pickups but for me it is done. I'd love to hang on to it but I'm selling it to pay for college sometimes I don't know if I even want to be there .
The trem is now functioning. The spring is a jaguar/jazzmaster one cut to size.

There is a pretty great video on Youtube of Justin Trosper playing one of these and the neck pickup is literally falling apart. I think he is still using the guitar in his new band, Survival Knife.s_mcsleazy wrote:justin trosper anyone?

Re: Epiphone ET-270
What's up with the saddles? Why is there 3 groves? One for a 6 string set up and the other two for a 12 string? Or am I just totally off?

Re: Epiphone ET-270
From what I've seen yes.
Various Matsumoku guitars from the 60's and 70's have these roller saddles.
Chrome, white plastic, bridge mutes, and on wood mounts for hollow bodied guitars. All six and twelve string guitars.
