Any tips of ageing cloth wire to match original?
just need to replace a couple of wires on a project.... any tips on ageing the wire to look the same as original?
Yes the cat has opposing thumbs and extra digits.

dipping it in some dirty water perhaps..?

Add a little soft wax to the cloth (some cloth wire is already waxed) and rub it with some dirty dust from your basement. Worked great for me.
