HI there - does anyone know what the exact fretwire was that Fender used from around 65 to '67? Is it just vintage bass fretwire or is it an actual larger guitar gauge than the normal vintage stuff? I may need to do a refret on a 65 and want the right stuff - medium jumbo is def too big.
Thanks

I think it's the same 6230 or whatever. My old guitars all seem about the same to me but I suppose there could be some slight differences. I've never seen any documentation regarding fret wire on vintage Fenders.
