Musiclander/Arrow/Swinger
Somewhere down the line after I've finished up what I've already started, I think this would be a cool project.
I wouldn't want it rear routed though, and would maybe use a JM or Mustang trem, maybe XII pups, and 25.5" scale.

Re: Musiclander/Arrow/Swinger
I don't know how much (if at all) the Warmoth bodies are larger than Swingers, but I can't help but think that a 25.5" neck is going to look odd on such a small body. The originals had the shorty necks (22.5"), and a 24" might look ok, but a 25.5" is going to be pretty long in comparison. I don't like the rear routing either - I much prefer the original Musicmaster bridge, control panel & pickguard layout.
I suppose one could order the body from Warmoth with no routes nor bridge holes drilled and then set it up with whatever neck you wanted, but then there's the question of whether it's the same size or not...

I have some parts you may be able to use. I bought warmoth made 25.5 scale arrow neck and body off the bay. I won't be rebuilding this one.

Yeah, Warmoth doesn't nail the top horn. They are too long with theirs compared to the original.eupat wrote: is it me, or the top horn looks weird...

Re: Musiclander/Arrow/Swinger
looks like they left out the arm contour too.
Why should we buy postage stamps? We can make our own.

That's probably due to the lengthened scale.FenderBob wrote:Yeah, Warmoth doesn't nail the top horn. They are too long with theirs compared to the original.eupat wrote: is it me, or the top horn looks weird...

Re: Musiclander/Arrow/Swinger
I highly dislike Warmoth's rear route. If I was to build this guitar, I'd want to to look dead on with the Musicmaster style everything. And that upper horn isn't quality.

Re: Musiclander/Arrow/Swinger
It's strange that they would pattern a guitar to look *almost* like the Musiclander but then not offer the correct routing style. They've got the pattern for a Mustang programmed (same pickups & control panel config) - doesn't seem too hard to offer it.~*blissedandgone*~ wrote: I highly dislike Warmoth's rear route. I never understood it either. How many people have always always wanted a Musiclander, except with a flame maple top and no pickguard?
