1978 Mustang bass, refinned to Comp Orange
So last year I traded a Fender Pro Junior amp and $300 to Pacafeliz for a badly refinned 1978 Mustang Bass.
It used to be sunburst from the factory. The lovely ash body was at one point stripped and given a thin coat of pink nitro on the front. It looked pretty rough. So I re-refinned it into... Competition Orange!
The whole process was documented here: http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtop ... 47&start=0
The bass only needs a new nut to be totally finished. Here are some pics:
Before:
After:
Other than the new paint on the body, all the parts are original except for the pickguard. Of course I still have the OG black pickguard, but the bass would look like a halloween prop with a black guard on it now!
I wish the headstock would have been stripped by whomever stripped the body... that way I'd have the perfect excuse to do a matching headstock!

A comp orange mustang is probably my perfect bass (or guitar for that matter!) Nice!
