I can't believe I was contemplating buying the original switch tip for £150 when a repro one cost 99p!!

Lovely! You're sticking with the P bass knobs then?

Yeah, I'm sticking with the chrome ones. Its the only un-original looking part I know, but I've always liked the look of them.
I searched all over the place when I was back home in Leeds the other week but can't seem to find the originals. I'm sure I didn't throw them out!!
I'd be tempted to get some white-hats for a change, or even some Jaguar knobs. Truth is I just don't really like the original Jazzmaster knobs. Sacrilege I know!!!
If a Mr Fullerplast is willing to part with a set of his newly acquirred white-hats perhaps he could PM me about a price....

why would he need to PM you with a price?
he states the price clearly in his ad....I mean, I saw the ad a while ago and it had a price.
sorry, I'm just confused, that's all....

Yeah, he mentions a price in his thread. I got as far as paragraph 2 & my Mum rang. Forgot to read the rest & assumed he'd found them for his various projects.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hey, no problems!
Your '59 looks GREAT! I love that dark sunburst.. it looks alot less like an obvious refin than a custom color, IMO.

I like the silver knobs. The originals don't do it for me either. I changed all of the knobs on my offsets to chrome or brass.

Terrible to say it but the original ones just look, I dunno, cheap!
So do the pick-up covers but I don't mind as much.
Sorry to offend anyone.

Well the pickup covers are just the way they always were and it makes the guitar instanly recognizable. I kind of like them anyways, as long as they are clean. And I have cleaned mine.
But the knobs are ok, but I just like the sexiness of the chrome or brass.
I guess I like that slutty look, as long as it is subtle.
