FYI - I had emailed Musikraft about about two weeks ago asking when they would be able to supply these bodies and Scott responded approximately two months as they are in the process of adding a few new products and also have to work through the prototype phase of the new template.  Anyway, I plan on ordering a body as soon as I can...can't wait!

they told me they needed some time before they could make me their 1st JM body based on my 1960 that i lent them. They are fairly swamped, so they say. Their website indicates this too!
so i recommend patience- after that you can have a perfect copy of my vintage JM body in whatever wood you want. Personally, i am attracted to korina or mahogany...

You can get dupont chromabase with the right paint codes at your local auto paint supply. I just bought 1 pint each of fiesta red, seafoam green, and daphne blue. It's not cheap, 40-46 bucks a pint and the reducer is 18 bucks. The good thing is it does not take much of it to cover and get a thin finish. A pint will probably paint 6-7 guitars. You have to make sure your prep is nigh on to flawless, because it covers with a really thin coat and any imperfections will show up.

That wood looks beautiful natural, unstained. Is it ash or alder?

Is it possible to have a sonic blue tinted blonde? Like, translucent light (sonic) blue... that might be cool and unique.

It's possible, yes.  One way is to start with the same paint you would use for the translucent white finish, and add blue slowly until you got to the sonic intensity.  The second would be to oh so lightly mist the guitar with sonic blue to just cover the guitar with it and stop at the level of translucence. Both are somewhat difficult to keep uniform in applying the lacquer and not have it virtually opaque in some areas and almost no paint in others. Someone who's good with a spray gun should be able to do it though.

Natural is almost common anymore. A trans sonic blue would be really unique and beautiful.  Let me know if you want to know where to get the materials.

I really hope you've got better luck with MusiKraft than I did. For my money their necks are shoddy. The tele neck face required filling around the face dots because there were large gaps around them and, the JM neck needs a fret leveling and I've not even played it. It's brand new. Just got it wired up today. Grrr.
