1966 BMM JM refin
Some of you will remember the 1959 JM I sent to Curtis Novak earlier this year for a blonde refin. Well, I had also sent him a 1966 JM to be done as well, but it took a while and I've been busy so I only just now got it back up and running.
I've had this guitar for almost 2 years now, and I bought it off ebay just for this project, which is pretty much my dream guitar. (The blonde 59 is dream guitar 1A.) It was a refin body and neck, so it was the perfect candidate. As cool as the old refin looked, it use to flake off in these really sharp pieces when I would play. It actually freaking hurt.
It was pretty much all there, except for some extra grounding wire and an odd double extension of the neck pickup lead. Here are some before pics:
Here are the after pics:
The color is somewhere in the middle of those pics. It's hard to photograph, but it's amazing in person.

beautiful!
Before bringing up drugs with your kids, hook your turntables up to a wah-wah pedal.

Looks amazing.
I think the decal is a bit off the mark though.

Re: 1966 BMM JM refin
Thanks everyone.
The decal is definitely a little off, but it's the best I could find in nearly 2 years. The 7 pat no 66 logo is impossible to come by in any decent form. If I can ever track down a NOS decal I'll probably redo the headstock myself.
And the tort guard came on what is now my LBP 59 refin partsmaster. It was advertised as a 63, but I took the guard off to reveal the gold gaurd routing and electronics. Worked out a deal with the seller and kept the guard for this eventual project.

...but I liked the earlier finish too!
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Not too many BMMs around. Great choice!
