It's probably a date - it's written 3.41.2 and Showa era 41 is 1966 in the Western calendar. Possibly March 1966, number 2 in the production run. Surprisingly few of these were made. I'll check the neck pocket of my SG3 sometime!

I had a 60's Yamaha bass with a bowed neck that I straightened out by clamping it with the bow straightened out (and a bit past), heating it with a hair dryer, and then letting it cool back down. It might be worth trying first before sanding away the wood.

I did a similar thing with a twisted Jazz Bass neck by clamping it and shining a 150W light bulb on the back of it for a day (about 2 ft away). Then I let it cool down over several days. Came out dead straight and stayed stable for a year before I sold it.
