VOX Phantom Stereo

Post by blackradar » Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:27 pm

Hey there,

I’m on the lookout for a vox phantom stereo pickguard, mine has shrunk and doesn’t fit the body anymore. It is one of the early models so ideally I’m looking for one of those.

Wondering whether it’d be better trying to find a replica or cut one from a template.

Any tips?

Thanks!

In the London area it might be worth contacting Brandoni Guitar Parts. As you probably know Eko made '60s Voxes, and this guy has a huge stash of parts both near London and in Italy (I believe).

He says on his site he prefers a phone call to a web chat, so jump through that hoop if you will. Been meaning to call him myself to see if he can sort me out with a bridge for a Vox Tornado.

Aw, man - just saw this on the home page: "Due to the untimely passing of Mr Roberto Brandoni, we will be temporarily suspending all our business activities. We apologies for any inconvenience and ask that you bear with us during this very difficult time."

It seems likely that the mom'n'pop nature of this business could well change in the near future.

Oh no! I bought a 12 string Phantom from him and he and wife wife were both lovely. RIP Mr Brandoni.
