Did these '58/'59s ever have matching headstocks? or were there no matching headstocks until '62? I like the matching head...
Where would the body date be located on one of these? bridge pickup route over top of the shoreline gold? I believe the entire body was sprayed gold including the neck pocet due to the nail hole paint drying method, so where was the body date? Was there one?

I wouldn't think there would be custom color headstock 59s but since they were truly custom at the time, it would probably be made to whatever specs the buyer asked for. I just don't think a lot of people would have asked for a colored headstock since they weren't a look that most had seen at the time.
