1965 Fender Mustang replacement tuners

Can anyone point me in the direction of any white button replacement tuners? The main one I need is an end piece for the high E string because the split shaft is broken, but it'd also be nice to have a replacement set handy. These would need to be the 1st generation style, not the latter F-logo ones.

Seems to be a few of the newer Vintera tuner sets floating around and I'd assume those would a pretty good option, but I'm unsure of the post size, etc. vs. vintage ones.

Hard to believe (unless I'm not searching enough) that there's no readily available white button replacements! Mustangs don't look right without them!

Fender currently sells white button "F" tuners but for vintage Fenders I will look over Reverb and eBay for a single or set.

Darren Riley sells the replacement ones at the best price I found, when I was looking: https://darrenriley.com/store/mustang-r ... 013189049/

And then, yeah - a direct vintage replacement would be eBay.

1965 makes them Kluson Double Line ones, no?

You should be able to find those new either from WD Music, which I believe owns the brand now, or from ebay.

If you can't find the proper vintage correct Double Line ones, the Single Line ones seemed to be more readily available when I bought mine, and they still look correct from the front, and only missing a line of text on the back.

If you care less about vintage correct looks, you could go for some Gotoh SD91 ones, same footprint, but their plastic buttons are stark white compared to the Klusons' cream color.

Quality-wise, though, the Gotohs might be better. This is purely anecdotal and YMMV, but I wasn't overly impressed with the Kluson Single Lines I bought for my Mustang, some of them have a lot of play before actually pulling on the strings, which is something I can't stand in tuners. So I ended up with the Gotohs, even though they're far too white for my '66.

Member Blomberg pointed it out correctly. I did a comparison thread a few years back. Have a look, Kluson vs. Gotoh.
Gotoh's platic Button Tuners are ivory and even a bit translucent - in a nice way. Depending on what you want. However, I am sure that it's easy to age the bright white Klusons a bit if needed. On the other hand, the Kluson Tuners are available in Nickel too, Gotoh's white Button Tuners aren't.

I'm pretty sure both my Klusons and Gotohs are nickel plated, at least they responded similarly to some light vinegar-relicing, which chrome ones wouldn't have.
