You should put a picture of how it was originally in the cavity.

I really like the disclosure message in the cavity.
I also like how it seems as though the last coasts of clear will go OVER that message, so any future owner/seller would have a harder time removing it if they were trying to misrepresent.
And covering it up would also mean covering up the all-important body date. And photographing the body date for an eBay listing also means photographing that note.
Brilliant work!

how about beating up the finish hard, giving it a red tort guard, a single coil in the bridge and an old Epiphone humbucker in the neck, eh?

What spectacular save.

Wow,
I'm new to this site, and this is the first long thread that I have read. I am utterly impressed by the courage to take on this project and see it through. Excellent work, man.

The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.

I use the tinted neck amber from ReRanch, and try to mist it on as evenly as possible. It may be easier with professional spraying equipment, but works ok with a spray can.
Many light/almost dry coats of mist work much better than wet coats of paint - which will make stripes/splotches happen. ...and then you'll need to sand the tint off and start over.
I tried the tinted lacquer from Behlen, but it is waaaaay too dark.
