Talk about a guitar that would benefit from some TLC!

Yeah, good luck with the resto! By the way, it's definitely worth asking Rexter on this forum if he could refinish it for you. All of his work looks spot-on and his prices are really good too. I know a lot of people on here can vouch for him and he actually has a guitar of mine at the moment.

Sorry for the lengthy delay in posting an update. I eventually got my '66 Jaguar restored by David Kennett at Flame Guitars. I reckon he's done an amazing job, there's a YouTube video of the restoration here

I took the good advice and kept the original neck on it. With the new neck I bought I'm going to build my own Jaguar and get the help of Rexter guitars to finish it, when I can afford it.

Nice restoration! Who did the sunburst finish? Doesn’t look bad at all (although I’m never against sending something off to Rexter)..

Thanks for your positive comments folks, the sunburst finish was done by Bow Finishing
https://www.bowfinishing.co.uk
We had no idea what the original finish was - once the paint had been stripped from the pickguard revealing what we assumed was an original tortoise shell finish it was decided that sunburst would be the most appropriate choice for the body.

I haven't gigged with it yet but I've been playing a lot at home and recording with it, it's fantastic so far.

I just have to say how bizarre and amazing it is to read these threads, assuming the people posting are just random people and then you click the video and find out the person posting was in Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized and other amazing bands. Just absolutely wild.

Thank you, I maybe should've explained who I am but it didn't seem important! Here's a bit of video from when I played this guitar in Spiritualized. It's not very clear footage but it's definitely my Jag.

its funny you should post that because I watched the Glastonbury 93 doc the other day. Really cool, meant something to me because it was my first Glastonbury.
Its perhaps more about the people at the festival than the music but worth a watch if you haven't seen it. You can download it from their website (they had a special offer on of £4 the other day)
