The Tetanus Teisco.

I receive my new toy today: a teisco R-2.
I bought it from dirt cheap on yahoo.jp, and after a 2 month trip in a boat it came in all its glory.
I love it and have a great time restoring it
First the rust ^^

Yep, that's rust alright!
Strangely, the vibrato unit almost looks like it has a sparkle finish....almost.

is that the original pickguard? i think i saw a similar one with a different pickguard...

Yeah, I'm interested too. Try using coke and tinfoil on the rust, it won't remove all of it but it'll make it look better than it was. Works well enough on chrome car bumpers.

Well, ok! some news... I've clean it, played it and I love it!
Still needs refret and I keep the red paint for now. I like it like that.
If one day I start a guitar brand (never), I will do guitars like that: simple, light, funny.

Yes... that's my thing. And after the Tetanus Teisco, there will be the Vomito Strato (20€ Founder strat!):

Looks great! How long did cleaning that rust take? Oh gosh... the vomit-Strat makes me queasy.

24 hours in white vinegar + one day of sanding.
