Rare brazilian guitar - neck repair

Post by frndmoretti » Tue May 09, 2017 9:53 pm

I'm have a vintage Giannini Sonic i'm trying to restore to its former glory.

It's a rather weird guitar, with an offset body, a pickguard similar to a Rick bass, thin neck and it looks amazing. The clean tone sounds a lot like an acoustic guitar. I love it.

But there a problem:

The neck has no truss rod at all and is a little crooked.

How can it be fixed?

by 'crooked' do you mean twisted or forward/back bowed?

Either way, the answer is to clamp it into or slightly beyond the position it should be in, then heat it up and let it cool down.

The bass version of this Brazilian guitar was up on eBay not too long ago - same color too!
