Here's the "after" shots. This guitar will probably get pulled apart later this year for a refinish, but it needs to hold down the fort for a while - too many of my other guitars are now piles of parts!

if it gets refinished it will be pretty much the same color, just with some more care put into the job. It's good for now though - i'm really happy with how it turned out!

That thing looks really great. Love the fretboard inlay solution too. Thank you for sharing the story and the process. I love all the detail shots. Just good info to have for the community.

It looks like something from an auto parts store paint, but kinda sorta like an aged Ocean Turquoise metallic (here's one from the forum):

dude but it needs a mint/parchment pickguard to be PERFECT!

I found a white '65 Jazzmaster pickguard a few months ago, but it has shrunk so much that the screw next to the output jack would be inside the routing cavity. I'll be doing some experiments with a heat gun to see if I can stretch it out a little. (I tracked down a few really awful old pickguards that I can use as test subjects.)
