;D

I could try those velcro belts as the workers in Volvo uses for not scratching the cars....

Ok.... I'm finished except for a new nut and strings.

It's five o'clock in the morning and I'm too fucking tired to upload photos - anyway it is too dark to get real nice guitarporn-pics.

Tomorrows midsummers eve and we're going to have a All Day party.

So the last part of the pictorial on saturday I guess.

BTW - did I mention it looks stunning.  ;)

Midsummers day and everything is a little slow today.... I'll try to post the neck pictorial - we'll see how it goes.

The fretboard, nut and frets were in a really bad shape, so I decided to go for a refret and nut replacement.
First I "custom modified" a pair of end cutting pliers a'la theworkoffire (filing the outer beveled edges flat and sharp):

Image

Then I went to work with removing the frets gently.

Image

Image

I removed the old nut, removed old glue and cleaned the nut slot and the rest of the fretboard with naphta.

Image

After that I gently sanded the fretboard to get rid small dings (the big ones was just to ignore if I didn't wanted to change the whole fretboard - and I didn't) and put on some linseed oil.

Time for frets.
I deepend the fret slots slightly with a small/fine metall saw and tapped the frets in place with a wooden hammer.

Image

Then I cut and filed the fret ends. The final fret job (levelling/crowning) will be done later on.

Image

Next I laquered, sanded and polished the headstock.

Image

It got a little flamey - I don't know why at the moment, but I won't redo it this time - maybe later on. It looks ok to me.
I cleaned the tuner bushings with Autosol and pressed them in place using my homemade method with a clamp an two wood blocks.

I cleaned the tuners and screwed them in place.

Image

Stringguide in place and time for decal.

Neck done. Next up is the last of the body work and final assembly.

:)
