just a quick update... nothing's really changed, still haven't changed the tuners.

THis guitar is really awesome! It sounds great unplugged & plugged-in. These pickups are the best sounding Mustang style pickups I've ever heard. Smits did a great job rewinding them (http://www.smitspickups.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

So basically, I built this guitar for my girlfriend cuz I knew she wasn't really happy with the pink Jazzmaster- she hates the CIJ neck and she's not as comfortable on a 25.5" scale neck as she is on a 24".
Well, I'm happy to report that she's been in love with this guitar since i set it up and it's helped her become interested in writing again and her playing has improved a lot in a short time. haha, she's actually a better rhythm guitarist than me (timing-wise) but know she's playing more leads. Unfortunately, I still need a plan for today (V-day) :ph34r:

They don't make pickguards now like they used to. That one looks fantastic.
