Looks really good! Slotting and shaping the nut is about the only thing I have left on my JM project. Any advice on nut work?

I want this guitar...

Does anybody know if his bridge is the same as a Toronado bridge?

I'm going to try to build a guitar like this for even less (I'm a poor person.)

I think Fender is the only one who produces them... I could be wrong though. I think it is a Toronado bridge that has been altered to use 3 saddles (3 holes drilled) and the original 6 holes that held the strat-type saddles are now the string slots. At first I thought it was from a '90s MIM duo sonic RI but those are not string-through.

Hey guys... I'm trying to finish. I've already installed a nut and started cutting it but I can't finish it until I get a set of tuners. I think I'll wait until I find a set of '66 skinny-shaft Mustang 'F' keys. Otherwise, I'll have to mod the headstock.

Also, no one has DS II decals that are high quality silkscreen. I decided to get an 'aged' silkscreen '60s Mustang logo from FenderBob just so it looks good. It is a Mustang neck anyway...
The 'other place' sells DS II decals but you have cut them out yourself and they only look good if you spray finish over them.

Mike, the decals I made for my "Mattina" EXII and thinline I had to cut out (made on decal paper) and I thought they would not look as good in a similar way as you comment above. But I wasn't going to have them clear coated, so I went ahead and cut them out (carefully) and low and behold if you are careful and pat out all the water they end up pretty good... might be worth the $20 to grab a couple from that other place.

the decals I made and cut out , without CC on top.. it is quite difficult to see the edge

Finished that nut with the tool above. Works great! I would recomend buying a real file for at least the high E but possibly also B as well. The thicker gauges worked amazing for cutting and the flat file it came with gave me a great shape. The smallest guage is like trying cut a nut with a high E string though. I'm happy with the result I got with it though. I don't think anyone will be able to tell it was my first time ;D
