Well I doubt that amp was recapped back in 59/60 when he bought it. He says he just had it redone, so Im assuming that's where they put the sticker on his speaker.sewkid wrote: Tribi9.....You have to ask yourself, when was the sticker put on the speaker. It's $ resale value was not though of back in 59 or 60. For example, how many people are changing tuners, pickups and even pots in their new guitars today as it is 'good' to modify you guitar to your needs and wants for today. Are today's people thinking of the value of that same instrument say in the year of 2059? If it was done recently, it might be a different question.

Re: Refin '58 - NEW SCORE!!!
Man, I remember when you snagged that off ebay - I was so jealous because I was watching that auction and didn't get in fast enough to snipe it. It's probably better you have it though because I probably would have been tempted to sell it for some more gear after seeing JM prices spike over the last year.

Doug has taken a little break from moderating and the forum in general, so I don't think he'll be back right now for any updates. All in due time thoughpainted wood wrote: any progress updates?

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Looking great Doug!
Very good repro of the burst from that period!
The paint stick isn't though. Are you going to cover that area over with paint afterwards or just leave it?

Thanks!
Yes, I'm going to cover the stick area and add some nail holes before I reassemble it.
I'm pretty stoked!
