It’s Alive !!
I rescued a ‘60’s Malibu neck from the dumpster and mated it to this Conrad Japanese original body for a crossbred Japanese/american offset. The neck is a wee bit skinny and the pickups are low fi but with all three on it has a distinct sound.

Re: It’s Alive !!
I was wiring a vacant house and the new owner had bought it semi full of stuff and was loading a dumpster, of course I was following behind as is my habit and pulled this neck right back out and stashed it for a rainy day.
The main difference I could see between this and an electric neck was that the end was arced to follow an acoustic soundhole radius, otherwise seems to be straight Fender.

Really cool! That's kind of a dream, to have a fun 60s Japanese thing with a stable, good neck. Do you know what type of wood the body is made of, or is it clearly some kind of laminate?

I’m not sure off the wood type that they used back then, it’s not light and it could be a one piece body, the grain matches pretty well from front to back. If it’s laminated it may be just two pieces, a front and a back, I didn’t have to remove the pickguard when I assembled it. The neck is a sure upgrade over the average import neck from that era, it’s alot of fun.
