That Mustang looks like it was painted with that shitty black underseal that just makes your car rust even more.

What the fuck, also pretty sure it's not an AVRI as the stock bridge in the photos is a TOM. Classic Player maybe?

But he runs this ebay shop for years and years. I can't remember ebay without the famous music-outlet-shop. Everytime you see overpriced junk you can be sure it's this guy again. People seem to buy the shit though... :fp:
There’s a reverb seller called “The Bonfires Vintage” that posts everything they have for like, significantly more than the most expensive example of said thing. Every once in a while they’ll get a Sunn head and strip off the badge and knobs and try to sell the knobs for like $35 each and the badge for $75 or something insane and then post the amp for like, $1,500 or something. Just the most offensive shit, like the easier it became to find disirable stuff like this the more ridiculous assholes got with pricing, when you’d think it would drive things down, right? If I wanted a Jazzmaster in like 1996 yeah I could probably get one for less than a grand, but that also meant having to find one first which at the time meant guitar magazine ads from shops all over the country and being a hawk at pawn shops wherever you went or whatever. Now I can pretty much find any part/complete guitar from mostly any year of production in about 10 seconds. Either I’m a horrible idiot in economics or this is all super fucking dumb and wrong.

Would again like to just say how much I really fucking hate that reverb shop too. Whoever runs it is a horrible person.
Only tangentially related, but the last time Count to 5s dropped there were listings on Reverb popping up ON THE SAME DAY with prices like $400 and $500. I imagine those guys bought them purely to flip and they'll just leave that listing up until it the supply drops and people become desperate for them again, it's just funny when you could go and just get a new one for the $250 they're worth right there and then.

I imagine with eBay and Reverb, since it's free to put up a listing then it's much more convenient to just leave the price at something obscenely high while you leave your gear in the attic for 20 years or so rather than actually keep up with what the prices are and judging when to sell.

I'm not sure if it counts cause they're Squiers (let alone vintage), but this guy seems to have a hobby of chopping up Squier JMs and selling them.

You'll notice he uses the actual same bodies for 2-3 "guitars" at a time so I guess he just has all these parts lying around and will whip it up for you on demand. It's basically a custom guitar :w00t: .

^It looks like someone covered it in glue, put on a blindfold and then stuck a handful of random parts onto it. At least it stands out though, which is a fucking incredible accomplishment for a Jazzmaster in 2019.

Ehh.

There’s another guy who does something similar and I have no idea how he sells a damn thing because they look awful, he doesn’t disclose what the bodies or necks actually are that he uses, but like they’ll straight up have a Fender decal on the headstock and the listing will say “CUSTOM FENDER JAZZMASTER” or whatever even though it’ll obviously not be even a Fender neck, and then also these wack flame burst variations and stuff, all with electronics on par with the VM line and maybe, like sometimes, he’ll put wide range reissues in one, but not often.

But reverb refused to let me sell that Rhoney Starcaster neck I had because it had a Fender decal on it even though I was absolutely clear about who made it.

Whole app/scene of guitar trading or whatever really fucking sucks right now.

Sometimes, rarely, a Jaguar neck was labelled and used as a Musicmaster neck.

Sometimes, some doofus thinks they need a locking nut on a Musicmaster.

Somebody else already bought it - hopefully they are the crafty sort.
