ok. so this reminds me of a band a girl i dated in high school was obsessed with. i think they were called something like atreyu. but she was always saying to me that they were good musicians because they played flashy looking guitars and she showed me one that had like fake blood splatter on it or something. kinda reminds me of that.
That's definitely Atreyu lol. Dan Jacobs had a blood splattered Explorer copy with ESP for a while.

Not vintage, but utterly butchered Jag-stang.

Even leaving aside the... let's say "questionable" aesthetic choices, even ignoring the fact that the coloured in headstock was so half-arsed that they've missed a bit by the string tree:

What the hell happens to that nut? About 20% of it is missing. But undeterred, they've still strung it up with the low E dangling off the side of the neck. I suppose you can at least admire their optimism.

p.s. keep in mind at the time, this was my main bass. and even i thought it was garish

You might want to sit down for this one, folks.

The bottom half of this is a 62 Strat (62 serial, 63 neck stamp).

Top half was added in the 70s, fwiw...

And while I'm here, I've been saving this one up for a special occasion. This seems as good as any:

I found this on the Facebook marketplace by putting Paris as my location. No word of a lie, this cheesy strat was made by someone French. You couldn't make it up!

I never mind modified bodies and weird finishes - but for the love of god leave those necks alone. :fp:

Look at the description - the parts alone are worth the asking price because vintage blabla... 🙄

everything that's wrong with Reverb contained in one post. A complete piece of junk, a labour of love I would turn down even if i wanted one, and it were a quarter of that price.
