Agree on both counts. Nothing looks worse than antigua finishes. Nothing.MechaBulletBill wrote: I kind of don't hate that? Like, it's a shame that it lost the trem and original bridge but, like the StewMac tele resto, it tells a story of a musician that ended up with a JM (probably wanted a tele but couldn't afford one) and just... made it work for them.
And that finish is still not as ugly as real antigua

The fretboard looks like it could use a touch of oil too.

seriously? I mean, anything is repairable but the sawn off headstock, horrible stain, sanded through ply layers on the body would mean hours and hours of work just to get it to the 'ready to paint' stage. I'd want that to be like, $100 to even go near itdylanafghjkl wrote:This one actually looks way less daunting than a lot of the other ones here?? original late 60s Telecaster bass in Mexico...
he says the acrylic pickguard is original, so it must've been an original paisley one...

Quote his post, add "age" onto the end of the web link & copy'n'paste it into a new window, if you really wanna see. It's not pretty!mgeek wrote:Pacafeliz wrote:original late 60s Telecaster bass in Mexico...

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

I really love those jaguar finishes for some reason haha. That it's a destroyed paisley, that's what hurts about this one.

I guess it's a shame that it was a Paisley that got destroyed, but other than that, cool. Not to everyone's taste, but someone back in the day had some fun and did an ok job of personalising their mass-produced instrument.
