I think that one makes an appearance earlier in this thread. Obviously it's not a tele.

Also, I actually quite like it...

grandpa restores his fender XII

In addition, while in the early stages of restoring the curved periphery of my guitar, I inadvertently caused a sanding fault
(visible in one photo, front lower-left body area) that I did not have the skill to repair. For this reason, I covered the sanding fault with a simulated abalone-inlay Flying Eagle decal, which depicts its princely flight from the dark of night, into the hot desert sun(burst), hunting for prey. ^Agree. Altering a '60s guitar in the '70s is understandable, but if it was ruined recently it somehow makes it a thousand times worse. Especially when, judging by the description, the fucking thing didn't even need "restoring" in the first place. :fp: How much do you wanna bet the guy also has a 1957 Chevy which he restored in the '90s with massive panel gaps, a miles-thick paintjob and a Kenwood cassette player chopped into the dashboard? He takes it to classic car shows with a lawn chair and a home-made sign with disposeable camera photos of his car and the Wikipedia entry for "1957 Chevrolet" pinned to it.

Doesn’t seem like a big deal? The guy put a sticker on it, who cares

^^
I may be over-reading that pic of the sunburst XII a little too much...

But it looks to me like whatever he used to mask up the edge of the red band pulled a strip of lacquer out of the finish on the front side.
Which his "eagle into sunrise" sticker job hasn't completely hidden.

And are my eyes going bad, or does that look like a squared-off edge on the forearm chamfer at bottom left?

It's a shame it had to happen this way but this might have just given me a moment of realisation. The Jaguar's top horn does sort of follow the shape of the Jaguar car logo. Was Leo inspired, somehow?
That is definitely the case. Also with others like the Mustang, Cyclone, Toronado and Bronco. Except for the Bronco, all of them had some racing / car themes going on at some point.

Well, the Ford Mustang obviously inspired the color scheme..

https://www.fender.com/articles/gear/co ... guar-strat

The good: looks like Fender had been reading OSG for model ideas.

The bad: they were reading this thread.
