The yellowy reflection looks like someone has hacked off the big pointy bit, coz it looks a bit like raw wood, and it kinda looks like there's a gap in the case. I guess it's one of those things where you-either-see-it-or-you-don't :D

Anybody tried to install an offsettish trem on this model? There's so much lower bout (or even "butt") for my taste, where something like a huge plate would fit very well.
Pop is the most wonderful music – as long as it's played with three basses, a string section, and two french horns going "Vroop-Vrooo".

Are your talking about the melody maker? I'm pretty sure most MMs would be way too thin for an offset trem. I've seen it done on SGs and with those you barely have enough space,I think.

Yeah, the rout would go clear through the body. Some sensitive body part or other would get snagged in the spring and then you would wish you hadn't gone to all the trouble.
