This japanese blog is quite good. Load it with Chrome on auto translate and enjoy. The column on the left allows you to select different years of manufacturing.antisymmetric wrote:I concur. Any info? Thanks for posting.theworkoffire wrote:Wow! Hadn't seen that before. It's a brute.

This copied from the link I provided before (auto translate). It refers to a GBX-33A model and how they were designed.windmill wrote:Wow !

December 1965
BLUE JEANS CUSTOM Prototype

Yamaha's electric guitar development began around 1965 and the EG development department was established.
I started drawing drawings around June and the first prototype was completed in August.
Therefore, a design competition was held in-house, it was GSX33A (later S302, SG-3) by in-house designer Mr. Hiroaki Takanashi and GSX33B drawn by an outside designer, but eventually Kunihiko Kase's "GSX33A People can play with confidence as a player "is respected, S302 and S201 which will be described later were developed.
Meanwhile, BLUE JEANS CUSTOM started development from the spring of 1965, by a different team from S302, S201.
In 1965, in addition to Chet Atkins, Les Paul, who was particularly acknowledged in American music breaker magazine for electric instruments performance technique in 1965, in addition to Mr. Takeshi Terauchi being selected as the world's three largest guitarists It is said that it began to make original models of Terauchi Terry and Blue Jeans.
Moss green 's BLUE JEANS CUSTOM prototypes were made nine and were played by Mr. Yuzo Kayama, Takeshi Terauchi etc in the play of' Wakashi Yokocho 'released on December 19, 1965.
There was no logo of YAMAHA in the head, the letters of BLUE JEANS CUSTOM were arranged in gold color.
The head was angled.
Zero fret specification.
The front pickup is not slanted.
There is no white cell binding in the neck.
The scale is 628.7 mm.
Color variations - Moss green.
