Very cool & interesting bunch of guitars! Can you give any details on that "project"(?) SG-2 with the Fender-ish neck?

Re: The Unofficial OSG 60s Yamaha SG Thread
Hi, yes sure. I bought it with a ugly old warped teisco neck on it. (It had 3+3 old yamaha tuners for some reason). I lost that neck along the road (ex-gf long story) but I fitted a cheap fender neck on it to test it out.antisymmetric wrote:Very cool & interesting bunch of guitars! It definitely needs a new switch and pots.
At the moment I am destaining the pickguard and pickup covers
I actually think I'll put a sg3c neck on it that I have spare or I go all out with a aluminium neck if I get ahold of one.

This band is called W.I.T.C.H (We Intend To Cause Havoc) 70's Zambian Rock. SO COOL!

I know...talked em down a bit too. Been on the hunt for a minute and they do NOT pop up in the US too often..esp in this condition. Will be fun to mess around with for awhile. Not sure if its a long haul kind of guitar but I'm really into it at the momentbacca51 wrote:You got such a good deal... Re: The Unofficial OSG 60s Yamaha SG Thread
Hi everyone, very cool thread. Hope someone could help me with adjusting the trem tension on this SG-3 that has recently come into my possession. It arrived without strings and when I put a set on it wouldn't stay in tune until the tail-piece part of the trem rocked completely forward (essentially locking the trem). From what I've read on this board it seems like the spring adjustment is under the trem top plate so some disassembly is required. If that's the case then what's the purpose of the hole in the middle? Also how is the tension adjusted if you have to take the strings off? Hopefully I'm just completely in left field with how this is done. Any advice is appreciated.
Also just wondering how everyone adjusts the height of their pickups since this SG-3 doesn't have any pickup screw springs. Is it just a matter of ordering some of these (http://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_Par ... rings.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and installing them?
