The hole in the trem plate is for vibrato height adjustment, and it's not necessary to dismantle anything. When you poke a cross-tip screwdriver into the hole, it passes through the spring until it reaches the head of a screw. Turn the screw to the right to raise the arm's height. This is what you're aiming for:
The pickups don't have springs, unfortunately. They're supposed to be raised by blocks of foam, but this is almost always deteriorated on these old Yammies, viz:
You'll have to take the pickups out and put some new foam under them. Just don't use the kind of foam (a sponge, for example) that absorbs moisture, or you'll be in for a world of noise.

I see some fixing up to doselectomatic wrote:The hole in the trem plate is for vibrato height adjustment, and it's not necessary to dismantle anything. Re: The Unofficial OSG 60s Yamaha SG Thread
So one of these day I will say: NGprojectDay !
I am happy and concern because all the missing parts... the hunt is on.
I don't know how it will end up but it is cool.
It is a Yamaha SG-12a, black refin... still some blue under, so let's hope the original finish is still there.

Very nice Frelonvert! I hope you can find all the parts! I suggest finding an Ural tremolo.
(I have one that I maybe am willing to let go off, but first I need to be reunited with my own project sg-3 that I bought here recently. I need to go through my projects but maybe I can help you out even more )

Hey Surfin_bird! thanks. We are sharing the same love for those old yamahas^^
Yes, I don't think that I will find me missing parts in a short period of time.
The ural bridge is a very good idea! I didn't thought of that.
Sure, focus on your Sg-3 project.
I have contact Theworkoffire and he is selling on pickup covers:

They are made to be fit with Vintagevibes p90 for jaguar pickups. You should consider it for your SG2-C.

So jealous of that SG-12a! I want one so bad. They always pop up for way to much money

This reminds me I was in touch with someone here to ask him to make a real pickup cover copy.frelonvert wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 1:50 amHey Surfin_bird! thanks. We are sharing the same love for those old yamahas^^

I actually quickly managed to get in the situation where I have too many yamaha projects.
The sg2-c without pickups, a butchered sg-3c from where slowly more and more parts end up on different guitars, a sg-2 with a neck and now that sg-3 that Theworkoffire restored with a new fretboard.
And on top just my actual working yamaha's so I guess it's slowly getting time to finish everything and get rid of what I don't want/need/shouldn't need. So I'm picking up the sg-3 project around new year from my girlfriend in the UK. So i'll be able to tell more about the trem.
Another chance on parts for you is that I'm basically figuring out how to get pickups in my sg-2c, I have a butchered sg-3c with pickups but no bridge or trem and a cut-up body; so i'll never be able to restore it and might transfer the pickups to the sg-2c. My other option is to get the p-90's or other jaguar/strat pickups and choose if I put them in the sg-2 or sg-2c and put the originals and the opposite. Which means I'll sell the butchered sg-3c (or just the pickups because the neck is almost fitting on the sg-2.)
Btw, is it just me or do I spot a low serial number there?

Re: The Unofficial OSG 60s Yamaha SG Thread
So I found these old pictures that I made during a photoshop seminar at uni. (we had to take 1 item and make 15 variations on it.)
I figured to share them, just in case if someone likes it. (I didn't post them all, but these are my favorites and the web can't have enough Yamaha's right?)
I picked my Yamaha SG-3C as the item and I tried to put it in art and pop references of different era's:
