Thanks. I don't have access to that section. My wife would kill me anyways as I just recently bought a 1965 LPB Jazzmaster....

I love 70's Jazzmasters, don't own one though....but Ric Ocasek does (1974), it was Sunburst, now it's Pink.

I think Kim Thayil or that guy who was in RHCP after John Fruschante was out the first time had one as well.

Well at least it's matching his link shirt. Btw, don't like this color at all. Too sweet.

I'm in the market for a 70's Jazzmaster at the mo. Ideally I would like to buy within the UK/EU. Could I get some recommendations for dealers etc, any help would be greatly appreciated. don't have access yet to the trading forums here.

I played a '74 one time at guitar center and it was super dumb. It felt like a toy compared to 60's Jazzys, and not in a good way. It wasn't very good quality. That's not to say they're all like that, but it turned me off of 70's JMs.

that has happened to me with boat-anchor jaguars, but never with them jazzers.

The one thing that was consistent in the 70s at Fender was inconsistency. Having said that, the good 70s Fenders are my favorite of all time. If you can find a light weight one with a good neck, then you are in business.

I got a 1976 JM that was on sale here. I really, really like it. I had been wanting to get a guitar the same age as me, and wanted to get a JM again after I sold my AVRI to get a Bilt. I'm very happy with it. It is remarkably light, the trem action is so sweet, the neck is super comfortable and straight. The pickups are remarkable. They are raucous almost to the point of P-90tude but without the extra girth and midrange. I want to experiment with their heights a bit to get them a little more balanced, maybe lower the action some, but it's a damn fine guitar.
