Replacement Set screw for vintage mustang?
Hello all,
Does anyone know if the replacement set screws for the mustang vibrato are the same size as the vintage ones? I know the arms are different between a vintage an a MIJ/CIJ reissue.

Had the same question regarding the Coronado II I bought from Twang. If your Mustang is vintage, I would guess the same spec as for the Coro. Found a machine screw at home that fit...10 / 32. Went to my local hardware store and found a 10 / 32 set screw in 3/8" length. Fits perfectly! Cheap and looks pretty much the same.....around $.27 as I recall.

Re: Replacement Set screw for vintage mustang?
I'm keen to know this, too. Purchased a '66 Mustang remotely back in January but haven't seen it since because it's in the US and I'm in Australia. I'm heading back there in July with a replacement trem arm (it didn't have one), and am wondering a) whether it has the screw and b) what I'll do if it doesn't. From what I've read, should be fairly easy to find a (non-metric) screw that does the job, but I would be comforted by specific guidance.

What TeaLifeTeaMind said.
For those of you that have lost the plastic/rubber insert that goes between the screw and arm, McMaster-Carr has some interesting options (see the soft tip section).

FWIW.....my Coronado didn't come with a set screw for the trem arm. My hardware store find (see above) worked perfectly and looks authentic enough for me. The real test was last night at band rehearsal. Set screw kept the arm secure with just enough tension to keep it from flipping around. Best $.27 I have spent in a long time!

OK finally got around to this. But for the record a 10/32 x 3/8" is a perfect fit! Thanks for the advice all.

Re: Replacement Set screw for vintage mustang?
Can anyone tell me the size of the set-screw for the MIJ Mustang Classic Reissue? I need to get some and can't seem to find the size. Many thanks,
PJ.

Re: Replacement Set screw for vintage mustang?
Thanks guys! I did find that size in China with a spring-ball tip. And , they worked great with some teflon tape on the threads. Held-in better than the stock set-screw and the screw didn't back-out. I just wasn't sure what size that was.
