Agreed. I would expect to see a slightly darker shade of rosewood too but I know this varies a lot.

I have NEVER EVER seen a student model "B" neck with clay dots!!! And I've seen and played dozens of vintage student models over the years.
You'll find '64 A necks with clay dot's but there are (in theory) NO "B" necks till 1965 and 1965 necks have no clay dots anymore, not on Mustangs, MM's or Duo's.
Someone else here may know better. I just share my experience of what I have seen or not seen over the years.
Probably there are some... you'll never know ...but if so, these are for sure very rare birds.

so it's actually a 64 Jag neck that ended up on a later F-plate MM II
