I sold a '76 Jazzmaster 2 months ago because I Always grabbed my '65 reissue.
While the '76 was a very good sounding Jazzmaster, the weight made me sell her in the end.
Especially the pickups(and the thick neck) were noticable on the '76; just a tad warmer than anything else I've heard on Jazzmasters.
They're beautifull guitars for sure, but not for me anymore.
I know now I like lightweight Jazzmasters.

definitely a vintage guitar! it looks older than my '59!

would love to try it!

i love the blend of wood grain and finish checking on the headstock.

A '77/'78 Jazzmaster is definitely vintage. I own one myself, in addition to a '75.

If you ask me, ones of that vintage are the finest out there - heavy, yes, but very loud, clear, resonant, and gorgeous, the latter courtesy of the black pickguard and vibrant wood grain through the sunburst.
