Freakin' Mell.. she does practically all the work around there for 30 years and doesn't show up for the photo op.

Maybe she was wiring up a JM or something?

I was feeling adventurous so I popped off the pickguard of my 1964 CAR Jaguar and lo and behold there are no stamps or signatures :( I guess my guitar isn't very special. It does sound and play incredible though.

Check under the trem next time you re-string. There's usually a pencil date in there during your timeframe.

Yes, it's special...

+1, post a pic of that excellent Jag anyways!

Markings are probably under the paint most likely. I just finished stripping my 64 and all I found was a letter 'C' between the pickup cavities.

Maybe Mell was the one with the camera in her hand.
Some one had to take the picture.
You said "she does practically all the work"

Ha! Thats a great point! Mell probably IS behind the cam.

We'll never know until we find a vintage Mell selfie. :D

A 1964 Jaguar w/ 'Mell' marking on the back of the control plate (I've never seen this before on a Jag), and we've seen the "B" between the pickups before on other instruments.

I've never seen that either (sig on the control plate) and I've been inside probably 20-30 vintage Jags. That's really cool!
