NGD! 1960s Pleasant (Inter-Mark)
I'm getting an olympic white Pleasant (MIJ) guitar from the 60s that appears to be an Inter-Mark under a different name. It plays well and I LOVE those pickups. Only problem is I'm going to need a new bridge for it since I'm a bit OC about intonation. Would anyone know if a tune-o-matic would fit over the holes? Maybe one of those GFS archtop bridges?
Looks exactly like this:

a tom would likely cause a slightly different string spread, but nothing major or even noticeable after a while (this is just based on my experience). It's an interesting shape.

When you receive it, measure the post spacing and the string spacing, then go browse Stewmac for a bit. They have all the specs of all the bridges they stock listed.

A TOM won't work. I've had a guitar with an identical bridge. Didn't work. Original is OK, though.

Would you happen to know what gauge strings this would need to be fairly on the mark with intonation tho?Ceylon wrote:A TOM won't work. I've had a guitar with an identical bridge. Didn't work. Original is OK, though.

Also, I wonder if a JM-type bridge would work. Bringing it home later. Will post pics!

I strung mine with either 10s or 11s and got OK results out of it. The intonation was never off enough for me to notice it. I did mostly play it distorted though, so that might've taken the edge off.loveinathens wrote:Would you happen to know what gauge strings this would need to be fairly on the mark with intonation tho?Ceylon wrote:A TOM won't work. Ended up smashing the guitar on stage because it was a piece of shit that was falling apart, but it always sounded good.

It's here! Pics soon. Plays almost like an acoustic to me in that shit goes off (but not too much) the higher up the fretboard you go. Will post pics soon. I still wonder if a JM bridge would work though...

Still seems pretty solid. Hopefully it doesn't fall apart on me. This is slightly more offset than the picture I posted and the pickups don't have the grill on the Inter-Mark. Planning to have a JM bridge and Klusons added.

Nice. The overall shape reminds me of a yamaha sg-2. The fretboard looks like it could use a good cleaning though .

It was collecting dust in my friend's house! He has a couple more of these so I snagged this for not too much money. Come to think about it, it DOES sort of look like an SG-2. Dammit, I wish I had a JM bridge on me so I could check with the spacing.

Re: NGD! 1960s Pleasant (Inter-Mark)
Cool! I have one myself.
I need to redo the neck screws, since they pulled loose during shipping. I was looking at bridge replacement options too, thinking about a JM bridge, since I have one in the parts bin. -Adam

Dude, could you check if it fits? Looking to fix the intonation on this so I could use it with 10s!Malcolm Ramone wrote:Cool! I have one myself.

Re: NGD! 1960s Pleasant (Inter-Mark)
Hey, I know this is old thread, but did you ever put a JM bridge or tremelo on your pleasant? I've been daydreaming of a mod with a JM tremelo and refinish, but I don't know how likely I will actually do it. Here's photoshop mock up.
Unfortunately the tremolo on mine is broken. The part where the arm is supposed to go in has snapped hence why I am thinking of putting a different tremolo in.
