New '63 Fender Bass VI day! THE HELL BASS *PICS pg.2*
oh wow guys... i stumbled across a thrashed and refinned (apparently) 1962 Fender VI... i can't believe what this guy did to this bass.
serial 8712x it's all there (even the mute!) but missing the bridge. man i'm about to shit myself.
it was an all-original LAKE PLACID BLUE and he decided to refin it... oh wow.
he doesn't know what it is. he thinks it's a big jaguar HA!
shit, i'm leaving to acapulco in 2 days... so this deal has to go down tomorrow or never. we're talking about trades.
stay tuned...
Pat.
PLEASE GOD... THIS TIME ONLY AND I'LL SHUT UP!!!

Re: getting a battered/refinned 1962 VI TOMORROW!!!
thanks!
so APPARENTLY all i'm gonna be needing is a VI bridge... where would i find one of those? i sure hope roberto still has one left for me!
mustang saddles and ready to go? well of course strings. geez i won't be able to play this thing in a while... but still, man i NEVER even dreamed of owning one of these!
oh ok and of course control knobs!
i didn't want to ask the guy too much, but does that seem like paint or wallpaper or what? he said it was metallic blue when he got it from his uncle 16 years ago. would be KILLER to somehow find the original finish under there. or play as-is!
oh geez... i want it to be tomorrow HAHA!
and the funniest part is, the guy is even more hyped than me cuz he's getting the mustang. so we're both happy.
cool.
stay tuned for more tomorrow!

I do have a bridge for you... I knew this was going to happen to you... would you believe me if I tell you i knew there was a bass vi somewhere in mexico and you were going to find it and have it for a taco...
damn! this is too cool!
Should I send it as soon as i get back home or should I give it to you when you come over to costa rica?

HA! =) too cool man! what a steal! but EEWWWWW! why would anyone ever refin a guitar! Let alone do it so.....not right... haha. Either way great find man! I kinda actually like the finish but people do the darnedest things to vintage Fenders, the tele neck i have now i got it for so cheap because someone put a floyd rose set up on it...yeah what a joke! The 80's did bad things to almost every aspect of life...guitars could not escape either i suppose... =( for shame.
