yep, that i'll do.
so... what's the best option/stipper to try out before trying to sand it all by hand?

ps: nobody answered, is the shielding in the vibrato cavity original?

Some auto supply stores have something called aircraft remover. Wear gloves, good ventilation, cover eyes, etc. That stuff will take nearly anything off...
this stuff

You can't go wrong w/ a refin back to LPB (from a re-sell standpoint). I say this because the old LPB color is one of the easiest colors to see by the majority of men. I always found reds and greens (especially washed out or light reds/greens) confusing/(aggravating) to look at and then when I applied for a flight medical discovered why....color blindness. In any case you are lucky to have the light colored guard which will make almost any color you pick look good. The best of luck with it.

actually... i THINK when he said "light metallic blue" he might have meant ocean blue or so... which is a color i don't like too much.
but i'll be continuing with my CAVITY SEARCH :D (under the shields and so), just for the kicks.

this instrument is something REALLY crazy, and i've been playing it non-stop, whenever possible. and it gives you a completely new approach on playing guitar. and afterward a "normal" guitar feels like a toy.

i'm happy.

but i'd REALLY like to change its looks.

I vote for anything but black or white, which are pretty boring, especially without vintage tort. Ice Blue Metallic would look really sweet...

well i guess THIS is how it used to look like.
unfortunately i don't really like that color...

but... make those basses a bit aged. and that LPB should be a bit darker, or not?
geez this is REALLY hard to decide... :bored:

thanks!

is there a pic? I've never seen shielding in a vibrato cavity.

Also, use Citristrip:

I gotta say, my favorite thing about the Hell Bass was that hand-drawn decal. Whenever you get it back, keep that thing going! :D
