looks legit to me, and it's really sweet. if i didn't already have one, and had the dough, i might get into it!
i don't really know the values these days. my Mustang is 1976 black with maple fretboard, slightly different animal, and got lucky at a guitar shop, a great bargain, but that was ten years ago!

a peek under the pickguard would make it 100%

You asked for opinions:
My best experiences with Mustangs are with the years 1966 and 1965.
My white 1966 Mustang is maybe the best sounding guitar I own (I am down to 26 guitars...).
Never had a bad sounding 65 one.

I once owned a 72 one... it was simply boring (for me)... don´t know why. No tone, not resonating... looked good, but I sold it soon.

75 Blonde mustang

It seems like a great guitar but I would like y’all’s opinion on it
If you're asking would I buy it, no. It's nice, and I like Mustangs but I LOVE Jags, and I wouldn't pay that for one either. My favourite variation on the Mustang is the 90, in this colour :-

Sounded amazing (love them P90s), great neck... never played it. Sold it in 2022.

I’m converting my bullet Mustang into a fender. Gonna put P90s in it and gonna paint it lilac purple

Only 7 guitars? You definitely should buy this Mustang (and a few more too) :D

😂 I'm a working musician and I only have 2 electric solid bodies, 1 acoustic (6 string) and a J-bass clone. More than enough to gig and record with, and far fewer things to worry about keeping in tune. I like that Five Watt World philosophy - the most music from the least gear. 🙏🏻

That 5-Watt guy seems to have examples of most guitars and a lot of amps himself. I’m not sure he lives what he preaches!

That's awesome! I had the blue Squier Mustang HH and stuck an Invader pickup in the bridge to make it djent more, loved it. Later used it as a partial trade-in for my Meteora.

Yeah I suppose like a lot of guitarists he's a bit of a hypocrite (oooh controversial blanket statement; it's tongue-in-cheek but I have known a few like that 😂) ah the contradictions of being a musician. Fun topic. Like I said I like the philosophy though and in my case I live it - couple of versatile electrics, an acoustic, a bass. Focus more on writing, practicing, recording than acquiring.

I saw he lowered his asking price to $1,900. But he's also had 10 offers on it already, so I doubt he's willing to go much lower. Did he give you any feedback on your $1,600 offer?

Yes! Just do it! You only live once, and vintage Fenders are getting further and further out of reach for us non-lawyer types.

It's certainly not a steal, even at $1,700, but that's probably about the best you'll manage on the internet market these days. If you're into the idea of having an old Mustang, I'd hit it.

And it'll always be a vintage Fender. If you decide later that it's not for you, you can sell it. But you'll never know unless you go for it.
