I paid £2.6k for a 65 (very good, Rexter) burst refin, with neck overspray, a reproduction bridge pickup and rewound neck pickup, early last year. Shoulda kept it but there was too much give in the neck pocket and the low e was too close to the edge of the board to play in anger as I do. Saddens me now cos I know if I ever want another vintage piece I’m looking at over. V £4k really now. Oh well- my AV65’s are just as good and getting more ‘mojo’ the more I play them!

I’d say maybe at 2/3 of the price as a project, but 3500 is a lot for some semi-mutilated bones.

I agree. If it doesn't sell soon enough, I am guessing the price will drop. With consignment of course it depends on what the seller is willing to accept. I doubt they paid that much for it whenever they originally bought it. FWIW around 5-6 years ago I paid maybe $3K for a black refin 63' Jaguar that played great with the original case, arm and parts. Should have kept that one, but think I sold it to buy a vintage JM. The ones that got away...

honestly, i have a feeling it will sell despite being pretty mutilated.

tbh, if it was me, i'd try talking them down then when you get it, send the neck off to will on here. he's bought worse things back from the dead.

a few months ago i mentioned the jaguar guitar guitar in glasgow had. 68 refin with routing under the pickguard they didn't take a photo of they sold it for £5000. edit: they still have it on the website, it's just at a different store now.
this is what people want for a "player grade" nowadays
offset guitars resident bass player.
