Neck identification question

Greetings All,
A good friend of mine passed away recently, and his son gave me an old Fender neck he had. When he was alive, I'm pretty sure he told me this was a Jazzmaster neck, but I'm not positive of that. I was hoping that perhaps someone on the Forum could give me some thoughts regarding this.
It's a lefty neck. The fret bead measures about .085 x .040 and it looks like the original factory fret job. NO binding (does that automatically disqualify it as a Jazzmaster?) It has the CBS peghead and August '68 on the heel. Pix attached.
Any opinions anybody might have would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Mark

In 1968, 22 was the code for Stratocaster necks.

The font doesn't look right on the stamp there, but I could be wrong.

Not to state the obvious, but it would have to have blocks and binding to be a Jazzmaster neck in 1968. And that's ignoring the stamp.

Looks to be a Strat neck to me, too.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

What’s up with the missing truss rod though? Without the nut you should still be able to see the threaded end from that angle?
