Information on jaguar neck

Post by Severed Hand » Fri Apr 03, 2020 7:43 am

Anyone know if this neck is vintage? Seller doesn’t seem to have much info other than that he bought it as a vintage listing on eBay. He ended up scrapping the project he was working on.

Thanks

The headstock is of a different tint than the rest of the neck.
I'm no expert but this screams "Squier with a Fender decal" to me.

Oddly, here is a Telecaster with the same type of truss rod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNb-HUCjOcA

The truss rod at both ends is usually definitive. Check what Fender ones look like, vintage and modern. When they were heel adjusts, and when they were headstock adjusts. And what the Squiers look like. Fortunately they're different (always ?). That one looks like the wooden plug on the back of the heel covering the truss rod termination underneath that you find on a Squier VM. A (modern) Fender headstock-adjust rod has a steel heel anchor that usually comes out on the surface of the heel back.
