Yeah no I’m very familiar with CITES regulations I was just curious if the same regulations affect transport from one EU country to another how they would an EU country to America.
These regulations are dumb as hell and the fact that already, often decades ago, manufactured items weren’t in any way grandfathered in, or honestly why they affect second hand to hand deals in any way. It’s something that should apply strictly to the manufacturer and stop there. You’re not saving even a speck of rosewood sawdust by including furniture or guitars that were built and sold in the 1960s. It’s like the only bureaucratic thing to ever really piss me off. Items built after a certain date that the industries were given plenty, perhaps years in advance notice that the regulations were going to tighten and anything with a serial number corresponding to any date thereafter? Sure, confiscate them. A guitar that was produced 6 decades ago, almost 60 years before these regulations were even remotely conceived? Get the fuck outta here, it’s ridiculous.

There’s one here in Norway listed for NOK41,000, which is just about €4000. I’m sure you could get him down or take a short flight over. I’m no where near it or else i’d offer to try it or help in some way. I could be a middle man if he won’t ship it to you; he could ship it to me then I forward it after a few strums.

Just wondering have you ever bought a car from ebay? Could you share some pitfalls which can occur during the process?gringopig wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 1:25 amThe '63 on ebay has come down from a totally unrealistic £6k GBP to a more realistic price but they are open to offers so you lose nothing. You can make offers to the seller no problem - they are used to it. Finland is in the EU so no CITES from the UK required.
I have a hunch that Guitarvillage won't budge on their price though as they are a retail outlet but, again, where's the harm in asking? It's been for sale for some time now and maybe they want rid of it and got it as a trade in.
Whatever happens, good luck in your search and don't rush. They are out there and it's a buyers market.

Fuckin trash is trash.
There are so many of these out there and this one has several “not gonna even go there” things going on that, to me, make this guitar worth barely a quarter of what the guy is asking.
Definitely go somewhere else.

if i was you i take my time and visit some boutiques ,vintage dealers ect...
the most important is to try it ,and after you can ask for the price tags ,it is cool to have a vintage guitar but it is not a garanty that it will sound cool
for the amount of 4000€ as i see you can find a nice sunburst with with the case and all the goodies ,maybe a refreted one (i am not against refret cause if it is refret with vintage fretwire it is a guitar that have been played ,then it sound certainly better )
for the amount of money you have to choose the one you like and not buying the first you can catch ,if you find one far from your home ,programme a trip to see it ,(call the mag before to avoid ,it is already sale)
there is not a lot of customers for this kind of object ,it is a jag ,ridicusly avoid by some ,and 4000 seems a bit hight at this amount you can have something really clean and rare ,(for exemple here in france a sunburst jazzmaster sell for this amount ,maybe one year advert!)
also if it is a dealer i will be less carefull than a lambda guy !(the false guitar exist and need to be carefull when you buy it )
for example

For that kind of money, I would order a Jag from Fender's custom shop.
