Original as far as I can tell, but I am pretty confidant it is. I believe it is not clear coated. Doesn't feel like it is

Just adding some more 1958-9 info, this one does not have a pencil date on the butt of the neck. I was a little confused by that until I researched it and found they didn't do that in 59 (something about someone writing profanity on a neck at the factory?)

What are those deep ridges in the paint coat?

Serious cracks in the lacquer. Not like normal checking. I want o give the finish some time and see how it ages, before I consider doing a refinish
