Seriously considering this one - https://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-Jazzmaste ... 3216542859. Any thoughts? I'm waiting to hear back on neck specs. I'd love to get into a nice all original pre-1968 for around $4K. Less would be even better! I think my R8 is going bye bye to help pay for it. I never play it. Still working it out in my head, but I thought I'd ask the experts! Thanks for yall's input!

Looks nice. Neck heel code 13 is Strat. Not unusual for early ‘66 d&b JM necks as they were originally slated for Strats before fender pulled d&b as a Strat option for whatever reason. But it is more unusual to see a b&b neck with 13 as b&b were never offered on Strats.

very cool. I would have a hard time spending that much on a guitar I couldn't get my hands on first, but I'd be tempted with this one.

Here's another - https://reverb.com/item/5226831-1966-fe ... -25-pounds. 7.25lbs! Little more expensive. This guy told me the neck is 56/64ths at the 1st fret, which is .875. That's a HUGE selling point for me. Lightweight guitar with a thick neck! Also a 13 B&B neck!

I've asked him for some details regarding originality of everything aside from what he mentions being changed. I'd have it finished, hopefully back to the original color if it's still present somewhere in the routs. I noticed it looks like there's a gap between the neck and neck pocket. A finish would help a bit. I'd have the original pickups re-wound also. He said they're not currently working. Of course, if the neck specs come back super thin, none of this matters anyway!

I've also been offered a 61 refinished in Reranch seafoam green nitro. Everything else is original except the pickups, which are Seymour Duncan and the bridge which is a Mastery. Original parts aren't included. He's asking $3500 for it.

Whether I got the 64 in the Reverb listing above, or the 61, I'd have them refinished. I'd source some 60s pickups for the 61. The added benefit of the 64 is that the original pickups are included which could be re-wound.

I noticed that too. At this point, I think I'm going pre-CBS. I think I'd rather have a refin pre-CBs than one of the 66s. Who knows. Still looking!
