NGD - So I bought a Mustang
Didn't really se that one coming, but one popped up locally, and on the cheap side, so I jumped on it.
It's a beater in a used but not totally abused kinda way.
It's a '66, that was OLY back in the day, but someone refin'd it a long time ago in some sort of CAR'ish colour, and some also put a switch in it, hence the hole under the guard.
You can spot the OLY in different places.
I can't decide if I want to try and get the CAR off there, and see if I can get the OLY out, or keep it as it is, or go total refin on the body.
I didn't have the time to shoot some pics of my own, so these are sellers pics.

Yes, white switches and pick-up covers and a newish pickguard. It was Olympic White!
it doesn't look too bad as is actually but would look better with the black switches and covers. Otherwise it might be quite expensive with a refinish, period correct pickguard with a nice Tort. Might be better sorting out any fret issues and get the tuning pegs fixed up (porbably replaced) and just doing the switches and covers...
Quite nice though! HNGD...

Yes. The stamping in that area was where factory refin details were put so they didn't lose the body with all the others being shot. I think it was customer initials and the colour. Not sure what ES could be. Because of the grey primer I don't think the red is factory but the stamp suggests it went back at some point.

Re: NGD - So I bought a Mustang
btw, i've never seen an ES stamp on a mustang... i would say that is an original factory refin!

ES stands for “entered special”, a.k.a. some kind of custom order.

Seller also had the old 3 ply white guard, that was on there, when the extra switch was there, so I picked that up today, so I'm going to change the pearly one for the older one, and see how that looks.

Looks awesome, very curious to see how the original pick guard has fared.

Oh man, så fint! A vintage Mustang with a 3 way already carved in? Det er en drømmegitar!
What's up with the tuner circle thing?

I concur. That is perfectly beautiful as-is. And if it's a factory re-fin, even better. TheM@J@, it is strong with this one.

I have no idea, but it looks like it might have been a string or something, that carved that ring.thisisnickpaige wrote: ↑Sat Aug 18, 2018 11:50 amOh man, så fint! A vintage Mustang with a 3 way already carved in? Det er en drømmegitar!

Re: NGD - So I bought a Mustang
I don't think it's a factory refin unfortunately, but I've started looking into getting some black pickup covers and switches, and I think I'm keeping the CAR.
