I am now the proud owner of a very fine 63 Jazzmaster.
It's glorious. But I have questions for the more experienced among you :
What's the best way to verify it's all original?
The pickups are surprisingly shrill turned up and I'm worried they're not original, perhaps Japanese or AVRI. I have no pictures of them - what's the simplest way of getting to them and what should I look for to verify they are original?
Any/all help welcomed!

The best way is taking pictures from them.
They should be black bobbin pickups with no bevel on the magnets.
If you can't take photographs, use the search function here or google them.

If I recall correctly, 1963-1980ish Fender guitar pickups have slightly smaller pole piece diameter than earlier years and reissues, so that is a way to help verify the authenticity of vintage pickups from that period. As mentioned, they should be black bobbins and formvar wire.

Not an expert on vintage stuff but looks ok to me - definitely not Japanese pickups because they would be basically strat pickups
