Travelling to the city soon.

Any great shops I should visit in my quest for the ultimate?

Thanks!

Southside Guitars in Williamsburg usually has a nice selection of player grade offsets. Would definitely stop by there if you’re in the area.

Rivington Guitars in the East Village is also cool for vintage.

Yep, Rivington and Southside for offsets.

Retrofret in South Brooklyn for 'ultimate' vintage.
They have an incredible 1959 JM that I played last week - a steal at $10K!
They've always got a small collection of 50s/60s offsets, a nice amp room, and they are very helpful and laid back.

30th Street Guitars (now on 27th St)
Manhattan big box stores at least worth a look .. Guitar Center (2 locations), Sam Ash

main drag music usually has a few offsets as well, but Southside and Retrofret can't be beat...unless you're trying to get a deal

Indeed.

30th Street has fair prices IME, and I've bought from them many times. Southside and Rivington are definitely the places to go if you want a CBS-era sunburst Jazzmaster for pre-CBS prices. This is to say nothing of the service - in my experience, the atmosphere at Rivington is consistently unwelcoming.
